Rogue Gold Farming - Can it get any easier?

Rogue gold farming has got to be the easiest money of all – although I may be biased since I play a rogue.  But seriously, one of the best things about rogues it that they can put out steady DPS and fight on the move.  If you’ve got a number of characters on your account, give some serious thought to doing your farming on your rogue.

To start with, rogues auto-attack.  Once the fighting starts, they are doing constant dps without using any mana or energy.  Of course, without using any specials the killing is going to be pretty slow.  But with energy mechanics as they are, it’s not like you’ll be taking a break from the slaughter to wait for energy to regenerate.

Being able to stun takes things to a whole other level.  Sometimes you can open on a mob out of stealth, and kill it before it has a chance to attack you.  This saves on healing, prevents you from being poisoned or diseased, and just all around keeps things moving faster.  On the other hand, if the mob doesn’t have any nasty abilities, a rogue’s natural avoidance (high dodge) means you maybe don’t need to worry about avoiding attacks.

One great thing about being quick on your feet and having all instant attacks is that you can fight on the move.  If you see another mob headed your way, you can drag your target with.  Or maybe you just need to slide around to the other side to give yourself a little more room.  In crowded areas it’s nice to be able to drag your current target closer to your next target before someone else can get it.  And if you’re spec is combat, you’ll be able to drop them both at once.

One more benefit of a rogue, and this one really sets them apart, is the ability to pickpocket.  You can pickpocket many of the mobs you’re fighting which adds to your bottom line in a real way.  You won’t get that as any other class!

The list is probably longer still, but I think you can already see how well-suited rogues are to be gold farmers.  Of course you can farm as any class you want, but when I have to get out and do some gold farming it’s going to be rogue gold farming.
